So you all know that I love saving money on groceries. But did you know that I’m all about being thrifty in every aspect of my life? You could probably call me a frugalista or better yet, Bargaining Bre (which was totally a blog name option).
Here’s a quick overview of our monthly budget for two:
- $300 for groceries ($10/day)
- $100 for restaurants
- $100 for bars & alcohol
- $100 for shopping
- $300 for “other” (like toiletries, paper goods, movies, tickets to shows, or if we go over in another category)
As you’re well aware by now, I rarely use a coupon during my weekly grocery hauls. The fact is that there just aren’t many deals for whole, unprocessed food. But that doesn’t mean that I never use coupons. In fact, whenever I know I’m about to go on a shopping spree, I hop online and coupon search for exactly what I need.
My secret resource? Groupon Coupons! You can search by specific stores (like Sephora) or you can do a general search by category (like shoes). All of the available promo codes and sales will show up. It’s also great because Groupon is able to offer special discounts because of their relationship with these brands!
Here’s an example.
I love making online photo books! If I didn’t create a “Year in Review” book with all my pictures, I’d hardly ever take the time to look at them. Shutterfly is my go-to company for making my photo books, but I never order anything from them without a coupon. They seriously always have specials going on!
How to find a Shutterfly deal using Groupon Coupons:
- Go to groupon.com/coupons.
- Type Shutterfly into the search bar and hit go.
- Find great deals! Both coupons and sales will show up.
Looks like if I were to order something from Shutterfly today, I could get 60% off a 6×6 hardcover photo book or 25% off any regularly priced item. If I hadn’t done a quick search on Groupon Coupons, I would have been paying full price!
By taking an extra two minutes to do a fast online search for discounts (even when standing in the checkout line!), I save myself tons of money each year.
What’s your secret to finding sales and promo codes?
