Regularly, Ty and I pass this bright orange diner that’s in a pretty desolate area just south of our neighborhood in Uptown. We figured that if this place is still open, there’s got to be a reason why. So last weekend we ventured out for Saturday morning brunch to check out Golden House Restaurant. And what did we discover? The cheapest and most delicious pancakes in town!
Ty and I don’t eat out a whole lot, so when we do, we really like to make the time special. We like to choose new restaurants to try together and we treat it as an experience. It isn’t just about feeding our bellies; it’s about spending quality time together!
We both opted for the Combo Breakfast. (We weren’t very adventurous on this particular morning.) For $6.45 we each got 3 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 strips of bacon, and 2 sausage links. YES, please! We also drank mug after mug of unlimited coffee for $1.55. They were so quick to refill us; it was amazing!
In addition to the delicious food and impeccable service, I’ve got to say that the atmosphere was just oh-so-cute. It really felt like I was in a 50s diner, complete with bright red booths and glass bottles of Heinz ketchup.
As we left, with our stomachs and our wallets full, Ty and I both deemed this place our new favorite brunch spot. So the next time you’re in town visiting us, don’t be surprised if we take you to Golden House!
