And although I love the financial freedom of not owning a car (no car insurance, no gas, no parking pass or parking space fees), there is one situation where I often wish I had a car. Any guess to what that might be?
Errands. Running errands without a car can be tough. It’s not like you can just drive to the nearest Target, get everything on your list, and head home, all in under 30 minutes.
No, even if you’re lucky enough to have access to a big box store via public transportation, you still have to walk to the subway, ride for 20 minutes, get off the subway, walk to the store, buy your stuff, haul all of your items back to the subway, pray you get a spot to sit with all your overstuffed bags because you don’t want to do this again for at least another month, get off the subway, walk up the stairs to your building, then up the stairs to your apartment, and finally unload everything.
YEP. City life looks a bit different than suburban life.
And now that we live in New York City, everything seems to be even more complicated than it has to be. One of the ways I like to make my life easier is by getting things delivered to my door.
But you know me. I’d NEVER pay extra just for delivery.
That’s why when I learned about Phil and their FREE prescription delivery service, I was thrilled. Honestly, when I can take one more thing off of my to-do list, I’m all for it. I love that Phil makes it easy for me to get my prescriptions each month, I no longer have to remember to go to the pharmacy, plus I don’t have to spend any extra from my budget to use their service. A total win for me!
How to Get Prescriptions Delivered for Free
1. Create a new account with Phil.
Go to phil.us and click “get started”. Type in your name, email, and zip code to see if Phil is available where you live. If it is, you’ll then complete your patient info (birthdate, phone number, and delivery address).
Bonus: For first-time customers, Phil will pay up to $20 off your insurance copay, or $20 off the cost of the medication if you are uninsured, while supplies last. Not only was my first prescription delivered to my door for no extra charge, I got it FOR FREE!
2. Enter your current pharmacy’s information.
The great thing about Phil is that they do all the work for you! You simply give them the information where your prescriptions are currently filled and they will call and transfer everything over. Phil works with local pharmacies to deliver your prescriptions. So easy!
3. Enter your insurance information.
If you are insured, you’ll pay the same co-pay you currently do at your other pharmacy. You can enter your insurance information, or just text or email a picture of your insurance card to Phil (that’s what I did!).
If you aren’t insured, Phil makes sure to give you the lowest price possible on your prescriptions. Something I love about this is that Phil will email you the price before filling your prescription. You have to confirm and approve the cost first so you won’t have any surprise charges!
4. Get prescriptions delivered!
Click “process order” and you’re good to go! You’ll receive a confirmation email from Phil once your prescription has been processed. For me, my prescription was delivered to my door the next day!
The other awesome thing about Phil is that they will automatically deliver your prescriptions for you when it’s time for your next refill, so you no longer have to add “go to the pharmacy” to your errands list!
If for some reason you need to delay or change your prescription delivery, you can login to your Phil account and manage everything online. You can even add and manage the prescriptions of your family members.
My Experience with Phil
When I followed the steps above, Phil contacted me to let me know that my current prescription no longer had any refills left. They told me I could call my doctor to get my prescription renewed. They also gave me the contact information for one of their partners to get a new prescription for my meds if needed. I communicated with them via email and all of my questions were answered promptly. They were super helpful! I was able to get my doctor to send Phil a new prescription, Phil processed the order that day same day, and the next afternoon I had my meds delivered to my door. I couldn’t get over how quick and convenient the whole process was!
Also did I mention I got my first order COMPLETELY FREE? Because I was a new customer, I was given a $20 credit, which covered the cost of my meds. Score!
If you’re interested in trying Phil yourself, head to Phil.us and see if this service is available in your area.
