This post is dedicated to my one and only.
Before dating Ty, I never liked anything spicy. Heck, I could barely eat tacos because they made my nose burn. But then I met this man (or rather boy… we were only 17) who loved to have his food make him sweat. Seriously? Who would want that?! Today, I may not be as spicy as Ty, but I can handle a little heat. If you’re coming to our house for dinner, you better believe that some sort of hot sauce will be on the table and more often than not, it’s Tabasco.
Tabasco is made from just three simple ingredients: distilled vinegar, red pepper, and salt. So you can imagine the joy Ty felt when he discovered that even during our Whole30 challenge (which jump started our clean eating lifestyle), he could still enjoy his beloved condiment.
Did you know that Tabasco doesn’t just come in this small red bottle? Last April, when Ty and I visited New Orleans, we happened upon an entire Tabasco store! There we discovered an array of flavors, colors, and sizes.
Tabasco Bloody Mary Mix? Who knew!
Need a 40 gallon jar of the stuff? They’ve got it!
But my favorite by far, and I know this because I tried every single sample they had available, was the Tabasco Family Reserve Pepper Sauce. Oh me, oh my. Apparently the Original Tabasco is aged for 3 years where this stuff has been sitting in a barrel for 8, and boy was the difference evident. Slightly sweet, slightly smoky, and entirely delicious.
At just $1.49 for a 2 oz bottle that will last you ages (and this is coming from the girl whose husband eats it every day), Tabasco is a steal of a deal. I always check for coupons online before stocking up on it because more often than not, there’s one available. This hot sauce is never in short supply at our house.
Are you a fan of spicy food?
Do you know what goes really well with Tabasco? My One Pan Sweet Potato Hash.
