I’m a girl with high tastes on a low budget. It all started when I got my first job working at True Colors, a women’s resale boutique. I quickly learned to love the smell of leather and could identify the brand of a pair of designer jeans before even looking at their tag.
It’d already been instilled in me by both my mother and grandmother to never buy anything at full price, so luckily for me when I started this job, I had the firsthand pick at the best gently used (and sometimes brand new!) trends at a third of their retail cost. By shopping secondhand, I was able to get the quality items my heart desired without having to empty my leather wallet.
Now each season of course has its own fashion requirements. This fall, here’s what I’m wearing.
- Long Cardigan
- Neutral Dress
- Black Tights
- Leather Ankle Boots
- Skinny Belt
- Feather Necklace
- Patterned Oblong Scarf
- Wool Floppy Hat
- Red Lipstick
You better believe that not a single item I’m wearing cost more than $20.
The most expensive thing was my 100% wool hat that I got on sale at Urban Outfitters this past June. As everyone was putting their wool hats away, I was just buying mine. Shopping at the end of the season for the next year is how I roll.
My other pride and joy pictured are my Steve Madden ankle boots. Now I’m not talking about Madden Girl, the cheaper sister brand. These are the real deal leather booties with an original price tag of over $100. Guess how much I paid for them? $16 at Plato’s Closet. Yeeeeeeeah, baby.
Where It’s From & How Much I Paid
