It’s the most wonderful time of the year! But do you know what isn’t always so wonderful around this time? Figuring out what to wear for your holiday card photos! I personally struggled this year. I wanted to look cool – y’know, like all those Pinterest families. However in the end, I realized that if I’m not comfortable in what I’m wearing, it’s going to show through in our pictures. So I opted for my absolutely favorite swing dress.
I bought this cotton dress on sale for $20 at Old Navy earlier this fall. I love the shape of it and the long sleeves makes it the perfect throw on dress for these colder months. I really feel like Old Navy has upped its fashion game!
Last month, Ty received $50 Gap Cash (good off $100 purchase) that was valid the first week of December. When the time came, we went on a hunt for some clothing deals. The entire store was 40%, even including the clearance prices!
So this sweater was originally $44.95, marked at 40% off, plus with our Gap Cash, another 50% off. In the end, Ty bought this sweater for $13.50 – 30% of the retail value!
When it comes to a couples look, keep it simple. Coordinate, but don’t get too matchy-matchy (unless you’re purposely trying to be funny!). If he’s in a fancy suit and you’re wearing your ripped denim, it may not look so great either. Decide ahead of time what you’re both going to wear so you’re not stressed the day of photos.
In the end, wear what you love! The more comfortable you are in your clothes, the better you’ll feel and the better your pictures will be!
